


Amirali golriz’s Heritage (in persian ‘Miraas’) is a sequalized collection in its first series of which 22 frames of red, white and green sets which was on display from 11 Feb to 16 Feb. 2011 in Haft Samar Gallery. He, in his tenth solo exhibition have made use of photo-scans taken from installations of photos and objects to create images that will be displayed as collages and light boxes. In this first installment of ‘Miraas’ the ultimate combination of the three colors renders the colors of the country’s flag. While each artwork refers individually to the concept of heritage, they hand in hand flag his national identity, which he views as an invaluable heritage. This, though, does not stop him from seeing ‘Miraas’ (Heritage) as one of those words which carries in itself literal, real, ironic, metaphoric and a whole list of other meanings which essentially defy perception and leaves us at the end of our lives wandering upon our haves and have nots resorting to a poetic rendition that, Life and being is his Heritage. His only hope is that those to come will keep it dear.
